Program Descriptions

Middle School Pilot Program

Students entering Grades 5-8 for the 2017-18 school year will be invited to attend specialized morning music and performing arts classes from 9-12pm. After lunch students will work closely with the Technical Director to learn tech theatre skills including costuming, sound, and design. Student must be approved or enrolled in Arts Alive classes throughout the school year.

Registration fee will be refunded if program does not meet minimum of 6.

SCL Summer School Half-Day

St. Catherine Laboure Summer School Students will join Summer Camp immediately after summer school.
Camp staff will pick up students from designated classrooms and join campers for lunch.
Once Summer School ends in mid-July, students join camp for full day camp from 9am to 3:15pm.

Weekly Camp

Students within Arts Alive partner schools entering Grades 1-8 for the 2017-18 school year may select Weekly Camp.
Campers enrolled in Weekly Camp will have classes from Monday through Friday (No July 4*) from 9-3:15pm.
Select your week or weeks between below at registration.
Students entering Weekly Camp will not have a cast role in the Play Production.
*July 3-7 tuition: $165.00


All classes are subject to number of students enrolled.
Unlike many other camps, Arts Alive designated schedules to best suit our campers.
Together we will create subject-specific schedules for your child so not all subjects are guaranteed.

Summer Camp Frequently Asked Questions

  1. I do not go to St. Catherine School during the year.  Can I still attend Summer Blast?
    Yes, absolutely you can attend!  Summer Blast is open to ALL students entering grades 1-8.
  1. Is this camp affiliated with the Catholic church?
    Arts Alive is non-denominational.  Religion is not taught during classes or camp.
  1. My child will be missing from Camp for a week, is tuition prorated?
    No, at this time, camp is a full day for 5 weeks building to the performance on July 29.
  1. If we miss a day or part of camp, will my child be omitted from the Final Performance?
    No, with advanced notice we can allow all students to participate in the Final Performance.
    Lead roles must be present every day to be included in the play production.
  1. Can we attend camp for half or a portion of the day?
    If your child attends St. Catherine during the school year, yes he or she can do the afternoon for $399.
    Students not attending St. Catherine must attend camp for the full day from 9am to 3pm.
  1. Is there a discount for multiple students in one family?
    Yes, a 5% discount is applied to one child only.
  1. Is my registration fee refundable?
    No.  Camp fills quickly and your registration fee is paid to secure a space for camp.
  1. Does this registration fee go toward tuition?
    Tuition ($399/$599/$699) is additional to the $50.00 registration fee.
  1. What happens after I register and send in my registration fee?
    A confirmation and invoice will be emailed to you within 5 business days.
    The first tuition deadline is May 15.  After May 15, tuition is increased by $50.
  1. How do I choose my classes?
    Select your child’s preference from each “section” so that we can design your child’s schedule to the best of our ability.
  1. When do I find out what my child’s schedule?
    Arts Alive will send you your child’s schedule after the first deadline of May 15.  Watch your email inbox!
  1. What are my extended care options?
    All campers will complete a St. Catherine Daycare release form.
    If dropped off before 8:45am or picked up after 3:15pm, camper is signed into daycare for an extra fee.
    Fees will be released May 2016.

More Good Stuff…

Daily Procedure

  1. Morning Extended Care
    Students arriving before 8:45a.m. will be signed in to morning daycare through St. Catherine Laboure School. If you are not enrolled in morning care, a drop in fee will be requested the following day and must be paid by end of that week to Mrs. Falco.
  2. Drop Off
    Between 8:45a.m. and 9:00a.m., Camp Coordinators and Staff will be present at the gate to check students in. Students must be checked in by Camp Coordinator before entering campus.
    Lunch items, belongings, and instruments must be left in the Office.
    At 9:00a.m. Campers will report to the Quad to meet morning teachers.
    If you are late, parents must walk onto campus with camper to sign in.
    If camper will be absent, please call onsite Coordinator before 9:15am on that day.
  3. Getting to Classes
    Teachers and staff for all classes will be stationed at the doors of the hall to gather students for each class. Once a headcount is taken, teachers will walk the class to designated classroom to begin their class.
    Students may not leave class for the bathroom without a buddy (for ages 5-6) or without a pass.
    After class, class instructor will walk students to the common area to find their next teacher. Lanyards must be worn for first week so students know which class they take.
  4. Breaks and Nutrition Time
    At nutrition time, students are walked to Room 6 (one class at a time) to pick up their snack. Snack is to be consumed before playtime.
    Students may not share snacks with fellow campers.
    Organized group activities are planned as well as break time activities.
    When bell is rung by camp staff, students must freeze at first bell, then at second bell, gather at the common area ready for next class.
    Lunch bags are to be left on the hall tables ready for lunch.
  5. Lunchtime
    At the end of the 11a.m. class, students are walked to the Hall for lunch break. Student will consume lunch for first 15 minutes of lunch break.
    After first 15 minutes, lunch bell will ring and students may be released for recess.
    Every child age 10 and up is asked to be a play leader. Play leaders will receive extra tickets for weekly prizes.  The role of a play leader will be described at Welcome Ceremony.
    Recess will end the same way as morning break. First bell rings – freeze; Second bell rings – gather at common area into lines for next class.
  6. End of Day
    Dismissal is between 3:00p.m. and 3:15p.m. Students left on campus after 3:15p.m. are signed into daycare and will automatically be charged the daycare fee.  Every family is required to sign the St. Catherine Daycare Forms in case of emergency or unexpected late arrival.  Daycare copies will be at Welcome Ceremony.
    At the end of each day when final classes are dismissed students will gather all belongings from Office and walk together with Camp Staff for pick up.
    For first week (or until no longer necessary) authorized person picking up student must show photo ID when picking up camper.

  1. Rules
    All rules as above must be followed. The Behavior Agreement will be signed by parent and camper.
  2. Staying in place
    Students wandering will have tickets forfeited
    Bathroom passes are required
  3. Parents and Visitors
    All parents are required to sign in with Camp Director if on campus between 9:00a.m. and 3:00p.m.
  4. Pool Days
    Scheduled after lunch from 1:30p.m. to 2:30p.m. Students who participate in water day are to bring a change of clothes or wear bathing suits underneath with change of clothes ready.
  5. Parent Volunteers
    We will need 10 parent volunteers on this day for it to be safe and successful. Any parent volunteers who help on the day get first row for the Final presentation on July 29!  Sign up with the Camp Director on the first day.
  6. Dress and Rules
    Due to the nature of the campus, we will have strict rules on this day. We want Water Day to be fun, so we ask students to have proper water shoes, sunblock, hats, and appropriate attire for getting wet and moving around!
  7. Prizes
    Some games will be played according to the groups assigned on the first day. Winning groups get extra reward tickets on this day.
